Hiking in Big Bend

Big Bend has hikes for a wide range of visitors, from the wheelchair-accessible Window View to short walks, day hikes, and more demanding routes for experienced hikers. Part of what makes the park so compelling is that each trail offers a different way to experience its beauty, and there is always more to come back for.

What I love most about hiking in Big Bend is the payoff. Some trails end in sweeping views, others in hidden places that feel almost secret. I still remember reaching the end of The Window Trail and being struck by its beauty and formation, and finishing Upper Burro Mesa with that familiar Big Bend feeling of awe at what the landscape had quietly been holding all along.
